TOG (“Thermal Overall Grade”) is a simple way to show how warm a sleep bag is. The higher the TOG, the more warmth and insulation it provides. At Lucas Play, we've focused our primary products on 1.0 TOG because it’s breathable, versatile, and works beautifully in most real-life settings - especially with our cloud-soft, temperature-regulating bamboo fabric.

In our search for the best fabric, we chose bamboo because it’s cloud-soft, breathable, hypoallergenic and moisture-wicking, so babies stay comfy without overheating. The technical term for our bamboo fabric is 'viscose from bamboo', which gives that silky handfeel and all-night comfort for sensitive skin. Our bags are 95% viscose from bamboo, 5% spandex to ensure the garment retains its shape and softness after multiple washes.

At Lucas Play, we pride ourselves on being respectful to the environment, which is another great reason we chose bamboo. Bamboo grows quickly and regenerates from its roots, and much of the world’s bamboo supply is cultivated in China—which is why we partner with experienced manufacturers there, close to the source. We also choose OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100–tested materials to help ensure every component meets strict limits for harmful substances.

The result: cozy, easy-care pieces that feel good for baby and thoughtful for the planet.

At minimum, you’ll want two sleep bags - babies mean frequent laundry, so it helps to rotate: one in the wash, one ready for bedtime.

Many families keep an extra wherever baby spends time - grandparents, daycare, or a caregiver’s place - so naps stay easy and cozy.

Absolutely- yes! Our Lucas Play sleep bags are machine washable and built to handle wash after wash (because real life = spills, spit-ups, and surprise laundry days).

For best results, wash in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Skip bleach and fabric softener, and wash with similar colors - giving the bag a little space (don’t overload) helps it clean evenly and last longer. Before washing, zip it up fully (no need to turn inside out) to protect the inner quilting. To dry, air dry or tumble on low heat; high heat can shrink or weaken fibers. Treat stains promptly with a mild, baby-safe approach, and keep out of direct sunlight to help colors stay vibrant.

Great question! For best results, fold your Lucas Play sleep bags and store them in a clean, dry drawer or on a shelf.
Avoid long-term hanging - it can stretch the fabric and loosen the fit, which isn’t safe for little ones.
Make sure bags are fully dry and zipped before storing, and keep them away from damp or humid areas to prevent mildew.
